DIY Edible Favors

Choosing a wedding favor when there are so many options is not an easy task. While there is no shortage of great ideas out there, one thing we know for sure is everybody loves an edible favor! After a long night of celebrating, a sweet treat is the perfect way to say goodnight! Here are some of our favorite DIY favors that your guests will thank you for.

1. Shop local! Head to your local small business and grab something homemade in your town.  Whether it's a candy apple, locally made jam or even fresh made donuts wrapped in a pretty package, your guests will love a taste of your hometown. Add a custom label or tag for a personal touch.

2. Grab a champagne glass from the dollar store and fill it with candy! Hershey Kisses work great especially since they are individually wrapped. Add a pretty ribbon and set it at every place setting and it adds a little style to your table-scape.

3. Fill a mason jar with a tasty treat.  Jars are great for everything from layered desserts to snacks like caramel popcorn! Add a tag that serves as a place card so guests can find their seat and grab a tasty treat all in one. It also makes for a pretty sweet display as guests enter the reception.

Pets At Weddings

Considering having your pooch at your big day? Will Rover be a part of the ceremony? Walk down the aisle? Party all night long? Here are some things to consider before you say I do to bringing your doggie to your wedding!

1. First, find out if your venue allow pets. Typically B&B’s, Farm Type Venues and Outdoor Estates will say ok to your four legged friend being on the property.

2. If your venue is on board, consider how easy it will be to keep your pooch contained, out of trouble and have easy access to grassy areas for potty breaks.

3. Even though this is your big day, you have to take your guests into consideration. Does anyone have a severe pet allergy or aversion to dogs? This can be a deal breaker for some people.

4. Since you and your significant other will be a bit busy, have a designated doggie sitter to take the reins. You’ll need someone to make sure your best bud gets food, water and taken out.

5. Is your dog a veteran family member that knows how to chill? Having a dog jumping all over you and your guests, barking and attacking the buffet may not be appropriate for this setting.

6. If you’re on the fence about your fur baby being at the wedding, consider these options. Have someone at the ceremony to oversee the dogs care and promptly following your I do’s return them to the room. It’s helpful if you’re staying on the property where the wedding is taking place. If you decide to leave your dog home for the I do’s, consider doing your engagement shoot with your pet to relieve the added stress of having them at the actual wedding.
